X Aberfelin after the Gale-Unavailable

Aberfelin is a small rocky cove near Trefin. In a Westerly, or anything Northerly and this little cove will get absolutely ‘Battered’. The prevailing weather in Pembrokeshire comes from the South West so for me it’s a bit of an event when Aberfelin is getting hit by a Gale. The result of one such event in the late summer of 2018, was tones of ‘red seaweed’ deposited on the shore, having been ripped from rocks by the violent swells. However, it turned the beach to beautifully deep burgundies and auburn reds, here contrasted by the aqua blues and greens of a recovering sea.
