Last light Gidliegh, Dartmoor.

£245.00

The last sketch of the day. The light was fading fast as great cumulus clouds billowing over the curved hill line of the open moor gave a dramatic end to a good days painting. Quite often the last sketch of the day is the one I like the most. Probably due to all the other sketches serving as a ‘limbering up’, as-well as the fact, that the light is usually fading fast so I have to work quicker, and therefore, don’t have time to over think or edit and fiddle about with the sketch. It is what it is. Done. Clean up, wipe down, pack away and head home to some warmth, as was the case here. My fingers were numb with cold! Worth it or not it was a beautiful days painting on Dartmoor.
